Hello! I am Daniel Bonoto Gonçalves, an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ), Brazil. My background is in bioprocess optimization using yeasts and filamentous fungi. My research focuses on developing sustainable microbial bioprocesses within the biorefinery framework to convert renewable biomass into biofuels, food products, and other high-value bioproducts using non-conventional yeasts. At the RLA Lab, I aim to explore and optimize the production of bioemulsifiers and biomass using Yarrowia lipolytica for use as functional ingredients in the food industry.
Outside the lab, I enjoy spending time with my family, being close to nature, and listening to music.
