Hi, my name is Rena, and I am currently pursuing Biochemistry Bsc with a particular interest in sustainability in the food industry. I work on engineering yeast cells to improve cell agglutination (sticking together) for a more efficient cell circuit design. This is done through improving cell-cell and cell-substrate interactions. My role entails building DNA plasmids, sequencing, and performing assays to measure the outcome.
Outside of my degree, I like to read sci-fi and fantasy books, as well as go on long walks.
